Blog / Daylight saving time
A lot of people complain about daylight savings time, and I'm also one of them. But I can say I think there's at least one thing positive about having to check every clock in your home every 6 months or so.
Clocks go out of sync so fast, some of my clocks seem to drift almost 5 minutes in just 6 months, I can't imagine how big of an offset a clock would end up with if we didn't have to check them periodically.
Ok, I admit I don't like setting digital clocks either, everytime I forget what the secret key combination needed to get it to blink at the hour position. Analog was right all along, just give me a little dial and I just need to rotate to the correct hour or go the direction of actual smart devices and give me internet so I can set time via ntp. Though, if you add internet now you have to set dns, wifi passwords, network settings and update firmware so hackers don't get in. At least if the firmware includes php or node.js maybe some hacker will make a script that will also sync the clock ?
Should I just buy clocks with better crystal oscillators ?
